【摘要】:Liquid-appliedglazingmaterials,beddingsealants,glazingcompounds(thatis,glazingsealants)aredesignedtoprovideasealbetweentheIGunitandthewindoworwallframing.FrequentlythereisphysicalcontactbetweenthesematerialsandanIGunitedgesealant.DependingontheparticularIGunitedgesealant,therecanbeadetrimentalphysicalorchemicalinteractionbetweenitandtheliquid-appliedglazingmaterial.Detrimentaleffectsmayinclude:weakening,softening,hardening,oradhesivefailureoftheIGedgesealant,orvisualobstructioninsidetheIGunit.1.1Thistestmethodcoversalaboratoryprocedureforquantitativelymeasuringthecompatibilityofliquid-appliedglazingmaterialswithaninsulatingglassunitedgesealant.Compatibilityisdeterminedbymeasuringthechangesintheinsulatingglassedgesealantadhesiveandcohesiveproperties.HereinafterinsulatingglassisreferredtoasIG.1.2ThistestmethoddoesnotaddresstheissueoftheintegrityofthehermeticsealorchangestothevisionareainanIGunit.Suchfactorsaspossibleunitfoggingorprimarysealantreactioninadual-sealsystemduetovolatilecomponentspermeatingtheIGsealantarenotconsideredinthistestmethod.1.3Thecommitteewithjurisdictionoverthisstandardisnotawareofanycomparablestandardspublishedbyotherorganizations.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
